Silicon and lignin are the cement between the brick-like components of a cell wall. In nature silicon almost always occurs as silica, which is inert, insoluble, and useless to a plant. Only silicic acid can be absorbed by the roots — and silicic acid is unstable on its own. Combining silica with potassium produces a stable silicate that time-releases silicic acid into your nutrient solution, which is exactly what Sturdy Stalk is.

Thicker cell walls also hold moisture and resist damage, which matters under the intense artificial light of an indoor room. And because it is potassium silicate, you get a potassium contribution alongside — useful in flower, though not enough to replace a real bloom booster.

How to run it

• As needed rather than every feed — during transition, transplanting, or to support bulking buds in mid to late flower.
• Alone on a watering day: mix until fully dissolved. With other nutrients: dissolve Sturdy Stalk into water completely, bring pH to 6.0–6.5, then add base nutrients and everything else. Feed immediately — potassium silicate is highly reactive with other nutrient ingredients.
• Use on top of a bloom booster, not in place of one.
• Replaces any silica, silicate or monosilicic acid product.

In the bottle: looks like lemonade, watery, slightly caustic smell. Shelf life 10 years or more.
